AB
...at the time I was deeply engaged with Yeats’ A Vision A and A Vision B
I was a barmaid in Italy—or Spain or Mexico—just off my shift. I stood behind the semi-circular bar with an ornate mirror behind me, reflecting the back of my salt and pepper head.
Robert C (shaman) came in, excited. He had just fallen in love with, or been married to, Abie. Dismayed, I felt there was something not quite right about this information. Abie, I assumed, was a man.
I woke up; moved cattle in the misty, warm dawn; after which I headed up to the studio to do the last bit for a show.
Sometime later I realize that if you have a heavy cold and you say “Amy” (name of shaman’s wife) it sounds like “AB.”
